Since our first trip to South Africa in 1993, we cherish a dream:

How can we dedicate our passion for Africa and extensive working experience to create opportunities for the disadvantaged, unemployed youth in Johannesburg? Since 2007, we live and work in South Africa and we are intense involved with some NGO’s in the Johannesburg area. Slowly, we have expanded our activities and in 2013 we started the “social enterprise” Sisiza Ukusiza Pty Ltd – we help to help. Sisiza Ukusiza wants to create opportunities for disadvantaged young people and their families. By inviting international guests, interns and volunteers to visit our project and to join our day to day work they get acquainted with the township, our activities and our project. We can learn from each other, using our motto “We help to help”

What we have noticed in all these years, is that the local community needs support to create their own dream of that sustainable future for themselves, but also for their family. We know that thanks to our own entrepeneurship we can support and built that future.

The development of a new young generation in South Africa is at stake. High unemployment rates, poverty and HIV Aids related problems make the youth extra vulnerable. Since 2007 we support the South African youth with various activities, projects and with our company. We work very closely with various local NGO’s.

Together we aim to build a better and sustainable future for the children and youth in the townships. You are more than welcome to come and join our day to day work in these projects as an international volunteer.

Sisiza Ukusiza aims to create new opportunities for young people in the Johannesburg area. In recent years, we have noticed that a small gesture or a helping hand can be enough to help someone to achieve his or her dream. An internship, a study scholarship or just someone to talk to and some guidance can be sufficient.

Tourism in South Africa is a large and thriving industry. For years most western tourists avoided Johannesburg, but fortunately that is changing rapidly because this multicultural metropolis has so much to offer.

The Sisiza Ukusiza team wants to introduce you to the bustling city of Johannesburg and the Tsakane & KwaThema township. Be taken by surprise by our proud young people showing you around in the city and showing you their daily living environment.  Your visit enables to create opportunities, create jobs and training opportunities for young people in the tourism sector.

We want to show that even on a small scale base, that we can make the difference.
